I was forced to come out today because I was binding today and curious bystanders in my class, whom I've been in for three years, asked me whether I was a boy a girl anymore, one of them asking if I had had a sex change because of my myspace. I told them that I was a man and several indiviudals in a twenty-three person grade began laughing until I informed them that, "It's not funny." Of course, the douche next to me didn't take me seriously, but he's a wise-ass anyway.

Ugh, I hate people. At the time I felt trampled upon but I'm proud of myself now for not backing down. Though I wish I had asked smething along the lines of, "Why is this funny? Is it funny that you're a girl, or you're a boy?" Because, knowing my class, they would be struck silent except for one wiseass who would get no response.

Even my best friends laugh at me and hit me when I attempt to do guy things, I attempt because they beat on me and shove me back into seats on most attempts. It just sucks. I'll have to deal with it, but I just needed to vent.

Just saying but they don't sound like friends.

But good for you for standing up for yourself and not backing down. Coming out in highschool is tough, I did it my senior year and it wasn't easy. You will always have other people thinking that they know what is best for you but just keep on doing what you know is right.
Call me a cheat but I make my own fate.

Thankfully high school doesn't last forever. I agree, your friends sound more like douche bags than friends. Probably time to stop categorizing them as such. I know there's only so much ignoring of idiots that can be done. Eventually the novelty of screwing with you will wear off if they see that it doesn't phase you. Long as you don't mind being an unpopular outcast, just do what you're there to do. Learn some ->-bleeped-<- and escape as fast as possible. Get good grades and graduate early, or do what I did, and switch to night school if it's available in your area.

They generally have a smaller population, more understanding faculty, and work study programs. Not to mention that a lot of the students there are the folks who dropped out of high school, or who have had troubles somewhere else in life. I don't know if it's the right choice for you, but having a choice is pretty much what saved me from being a giant ball of stress after two years of being in regular high school hell. I dunno. Something to look into if things become unbearable.

Congrats on the courage to be yourself.

High school was a horrible hell-hole for me...wish now I'd taken the GED and gone to college early.  Or that my mom would've been willing to homeschool.  Still have nightmares about it.

Although it seems that you were in a bad situation at the time, congrats for coming out. I am slowly coming out in highschool....it is hell - mostly with the upper classman boys - But I don't really associate with them and my upper classman friends usually have my back.

It's awful, but great at the same time. I'm sure you will thank yourself later

It sucks that you had to come out against your will, but good job standing up for yourself!

That sucks, but you can't let these kinds of people get you down.
People that can't be happy for the decisions of others are obviously unhappy and incomplete in their own lives.
They laugh because it makes them feel superior. Which shows that they are anything but.

Stay strong!! Don't let the douchebags get you down! High school is hell, as is life. Those don't sound like friends. A friend is someone who understands you, not someone who kicks you around for even trying to be yourself.  :(

Yeah, school sucks, that's why its such excellent preparation for life, which, as it turns out, also sucks.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...
