Gee they finally are reporting something right for a change.

QuoteThe court also approved other procedures to confirm her gender.

I'm curious what these procedures pertain.

Michelle.

The court heard "Sally" had been a healthy girl until she turned 11-years-old and discovered two lumps, one of which was in her abdomen.

It takes three years and court "approval" in Australia for a procedure that is between doctor and family in the US?

How nice. >:(

I am very pleasantly surprised with how FOX reported on this story.

But then again... if she didn't have AIS they probably would have sensationalized the story and misgendered her as they usually do for other stories involving trans people. I wish people can understand that being a trans female is very much like having AIS... having the wrong chromosomes for your gender, just minus the androgen insensitivity.

Definitely.
And they would use these same medical reasons to disqualify a transsexual as being female.

Google Dr Vincent Harley and his work on transsexuals and you will find that in fact being trans has actually recently been found to have a strong correlation to a previously unknown form of androgen insensitivity.

What was not known until about three years ago was that there was a form of AIS which affected ONLY the functioning of the androgen receptors in brain tissue. Males with this gene fault are always strongly transgendered as the androgen receptors in the brain do not work properly.

So it's actually a lot more similar than you think. Sadly though it will take about two decades, and two or three duplicate studies confirming the results, before the work that Dr Harley had done penetrates the thick skulls of those who, like the compilers of DSM V, eroneously believe that there is no physical cause to our condition.
