People and Projects: Cheri Lovedog screens her new film in unlikely venue

The film certainly earns its indie cred by its subject matter as well. Lovedog stars as a female-to-male transsexual named Johnny who attends his mother's funeral in part to heal a rift in his fractured family. "At the core, the film is really about family and bloodlines," said Lovedog, who runs Lovedog Tattoo Studio on Soquel Avenue.
