Between Names

So, I've been having trouble with my pants lately.  I can't seem to find a pair of jeans that fit my hips and ass without being ridiculously baggy, or that are nice and slim fit without making my butt look big.

I was hoping you guys could share which pairs of jeans you like to wear.  Doesn't matter if they are womens' jeans or mens' jeans.  Share your favorite brands, styles and cuts, and maybe pictures of the pants.  (You don't have to be in the pictures of course.)

I'm sure it would be a big help not only to me, but to anyone else who is having the same problem.

I generally try to avoid skinny jeans, 'cause I still have quite a bit of feminine fat in my legs and I don't want the jeans to contour them. So, uh...I go for anything that sort of hangs off my hips and makes me look taller and de-emphasizes by hips. I found that having folds in the jeans really helps.

I don't know if there are any other guys out there who ride English on horseback, but I'm still having trouble getting my riding britches to look masculine.

Also, cargo pants/shorts. I found them quite helpful in disguising body shape. So nice to finally go out into public without people commenting about the hair on my legs.

Levi's 507 slim boot cut is my cut of choice:

They solve both the problems you mention - they're wider in the hip than traditional men's cuts because they're supposed to ride a bit lower, and they're slimmer through the thigh than most jeans that are similarly generous in the hip.

I'll wear the 559 Relaxed Straight too, but it's not as flattering:

I go tighter on the hip, and looser on the legs. Too short makes it worse, I like the ends to sit on the backs of my shoes a little.

Boot cut?

I don't typically have much money, so my stores of choice are fairly limited. I buy Old Navy jeans, and prior to T, I went with the carpenter or loose styles, straight leg, because they de-emphasize larger hips. Definitely make sure you wear your pants at your hips, not your natural waist. Now that I've been on T for quite a long while, I wear the regular Old Navy straight leg jeans.

Boot cut?
Well, what I like about (slim) boot cut, strangely enough, is that it's designed to be a slightly feminizing cut on cis guys - it's designed to create the illusion of a little curve in the butt area. So there's a bit of extra room there, and having a slight curve doesn't look out of place or feminine. And they're supposed to sit on a guy's hips rather than his waist, so the butt/crotch/knee all land in the right place when you wear them belted on your hips. In general, they just work with the FTM body rather than against it (and God knows we work against it quite enough in the top half).

I don't like carpenter, cargo, or other very baggy syles because they just make me look bottom-heavy. Also, men's boot cut is reasonably common on gay men (about even with skinny jeans) and basically never seen on lesbians, while carpenter/cargo/baggy are essentially unheard-of on gay men but quite common on lesbians.

And just because I'm a little bit on the chubby side in the hips, I don't like anything that's tight at the hips/waist because it creates bulges above and below the waist. (Another advantage of the jeans I linked: the rise is low enough that it's virtually impossible to get that belly fat bulge below the belt.) If my pants fit correctly at the hip, I can actually tuck certain shirts in and look good.

I agree about liking them a bit longer though.

I wear straight leg jeans.  Always have.  Except for my first couple pairs of guy jeans, those were on carpenter.  It helped out when I need a place to hang a hammer (which happened often enough to justify the jeans).

Tried the boot cut on in a store one day and felt ridiculous in them, like I was wearing girl's pants again.  I might try again in the fall, but right now I'm more focused on shorts

Ok, so I just came across a picture from last night's show...these are black men's jeans from Walmart...They're loose all throughout. I just like the way they don't bring out my hips.

I wear Pacsun Dillon Skinny jeans and i have 2 pairs of American Eagle vintage slim and 1 pair of bootcut levis which I like considerably less. I think they fit great but then again I don't really have hips or an ass.
Call me a cheat but I make my own fate.

These are my black wrangler jeans.. I think they are boot cut.. I ripped them up and stuff

I lifted my shirt to show where is the best place to wear them (for me) which is right under the fatty part of my hips, cause the shirt will cover them

and these are some nice jeans from gap.. comfortable, masculine.

Okay that's just hot especially with the boxer shorts poking out.  I think it looks very masculine.

@Zombie boy, you as well.  Great look and I am loving that belt with your tie

Lol. Elijah, I think you're hot too. Esp with the ripped jeans. Something I've never bothered with cause I always rip the holes even more when I put them on. I agree with the shirt hiding the hips method...I use it too.
