I told my manager at work today the reason why I've been so down and anxious the past two months...I hadn't intended to, but she was genuinely concerned and asked how I was after she noticed I was in full on hiding in the hoody mode™ and it just seemed to be the right thing to do, especially as I was trying to explain things without explaining things.

It was really positive, we talked about the best way to move forward, a little discussion about time scales and I found out that not only does the HR team at the company I work for have experience with TS people, so does Sharon, as she was a manager at a company where someone came out as a cross dresser. It almost feels like that the big scary hurdle I'd imagined this to be from a distance actually turned out to be a ruler balance between a couple of match boxes...I hardly had to leap at all. hehe

so yeah, my day has held an unexpected milestone and I'm sooooo glad that it's done now. Yay!

And thank you again to Jenny, for her words of wisdom and a much needed pep talk...once we'd sorted out the time dilation effect that occurs when you make a mobile call to the west country. hehe

Tee hee - West country be darned - Didn't I tell you I'm away on a research trip in heaven for my next Angel book. I had the phone on divert - that's why the line was so bad! ;)

Come to think of it I called you back - oh noos :o I hope the celestial phone company offers me good roaming rates ;D

Anyway - I'll be the first to say a HUGE WELL DONE on now being officially out at work (even if only to your manager and HR) You are well on your way girl!  :)

<cue wild applause for Helena from everyone on the forum>

Ah, so that's what it was...I thought the celestial hap music in the background was just some Brian Eno or something of that ilk on the stereophonic gramophone. hehe

It just feels like another bit of weight lifted now, so I can stop worrying and start concentrating on other things

coming out at work is a bit of a stress reliever.  Bravo, Helena.  Another milestone down.  The next shall be easier.

I understand the time delay thingy as Cindy James and I have talked.  Interesting thing this international long distance.  ::)
