It's good the way it is if my parents didn't bicker as much. I love it when everyone is on good terms with everyone else and there is no worries

Chances are though when I get older I'm going to end up living alone. But I don't know

Basically I live alone; I have my own little studio in a 3-floor building (ground floor is a shop, 2nd and 3rd have 3 rooms/studios with each their own kitchen and bathroom). The shop and the 2nd/3rd floor have separate entrances.

The thing is though, while I have my own place/live alone my building has this social squatter-like atmosphere. People often leave their doors open, two of my neighbours have my key and I also consider them my friends. There's stuff of mine in their rooms and vice versa. Other friends (and my SO) often visit and we change where we chill based on what we're going to do...

So I'm never really alone. I live in a social building that is the setting for many fun stories...

While I'm madly in love with my wife I won't say I can't live without her.  Life has taught me I can make it through almost anything and transitioning toughened me up more than any other life experience.  I'd survive but I'd miss her deeply for a very long time.

Going back to when I was alone, I didn't enjoy it.  But I wasn't just living alone, I was almost totally alone.  Family and friends had all but abandoned me because I was trans.  That was the first time in my life I truly felt totally alone.  That was rough.

Nice Julie. I on the other hand have ever been alone. It is now the only place I find comfort, not happiness, just comfort. I haven't learned to live any other way.

I live alone and prefer it.  I had a roommate but that person would do nothing to contribute to the household income. 

I would like to have visitors, but I never seem to hear from any one.  My neighbor and I visit often as we check on each other.

Edit:  Okay that is not exactly true, but I do feel trapped here with someone who is barely tolerant of my needs.  It is a tough situation for both of us right now.  I can only hope it will find a way to get better.

In America I have a roommate that I think about shooting sometimes lol Her and her girlfriend know how to take drama to great new heights. But I do love them both and I'm sure I'll miss them when I go back to Australia. There I live with a very sweet woman and her 2 teenage children who treat me like a second mom. Her and I used to be romantically involved before transition but now we're more like BFF's. She's coming to be with me during surgery and friends like that are worth more than gold.

I was never more alone than when I was married. And it took my friend to guide me out of a horrible pit of despair and set me on the path that led to where I am now. If I didn't have my friends I would have been/would be hopelessly lost to this condition.

I agree with on of the previous responders in that the poll needs more category's.

However, to answer my side of the situation.  I am married and living separated lives within the same house.  Will be getting divorced this summer sometime after the grade school year ends and the new school year starts in the fall.  This will be basically the first I will be alone since my pre-dating days in my middle teen years.  I am nervous and excited about this new prospect.  I am going to miss my friend in my wife, but I'm not going to miss her anger and resentment toward the woman I know I am to become.  I'm excited for the new beginnings of my transition and the new friends I am going to make along the way.

I live with my parents, my two older siblings live here too (brother and sister, I'm the youngest of 3), and my nephew (6 years old, sister's kid). To say the least it's crowded , our house isn't that big. Even though I live with my family, I still feel lonely though. I mean my family is great, super accepting, but I'm really only close with my mom. It's hard to explain I guess, surrounded by people but still lonely . I'd rather live alone than with my family, I love them and all, I just need to get away. When I can afford  it (aka get a job ) I'll be moving out, I'm most likely going to have to have roommates - hopefully they are nice lol.

Interesting side note: there's a LGBT newsletter I get by email for my city, and people can advertise that they are looking for roommates. My plan is to be stealth where ever I move, but I probably could find some accepting people if I wanted to.

Whether I would rather live alone or with someone, I'm not too sure. I get lonely pretty easily, living with friends would probably be my preferred situation.

I live alone, but hopefully not forever.  I've lived with between 1 and 3 roommates for periods in the past, but I prefer none while I'm transitioning.

i have room mates.. One i despize, and one I can somewhat tollerate.
I'm moving though in a week and a half..where i'll have my own room finally. Craigs list roommates though.

im with my mom still im still in highschool. almost done with school though so ill be moving out over the summer (hopefully but most likely)
alone would be fine, a roommate i wouldn't mind but it'd be hard to find one i wouldnt want to constantly strangle lol
