Hailed as "more than just a spoken word poet," Kit Yan has been described as an "inspiring activist with the ability to motivate his audiences to create social change through a compelling call to action." His stories, told using slam poetry through the lens of a transgender Asian American from Hawaii lost in the big city of New York, have been taught at universities from coast to coast. Now, he's bringing his work to the Boston Pride stage.

Kit, who spoke to a crowd of over 200,000 at the 2009 National Equality March, has quite a distinct style of poetry. Through touching love poems, raunchy sex accounts, and the comedic tales of his childhood, Kit takes you on a raw, real, and heart wrenching journey that's bound to make you laugh and cry.
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
