Why is it so important that the site is only for straight people? If all sexual orientations were allowed that would make the site more popular which would increase the size of the dating pools so that would be better for everyone wouldn't it?

I wouldn't be comfortable with working with an orientation restricted website in any way. I don't think excluding "anyone" is really a reasonable way to go.

I'm not sure how this would work that would be different than other dating sites like tsdating.com?

I don't frequent dating sites per se, so I'm not sure how it would work.  You say that it would be for straight trans people.  But is a trans woman looking for a man, straight?  Does it even matter?

Would your questionnaire be something like:

I AM A
Male,
Female,
Male identified,
Female identified,
Male Pre-op,
Male Post-op,
Male Non-op,
Female Pre-op,
Female Post-op,
Female Non-op
Androgynous

I AM LOOKING FOR
Male,
Female,
Male identified,
Female identified,
Male Pre-op,
Male Post-op,
Male Non-op,
Female Pre-op,
Female Post-op,
Female Non-op
Androgynous

And then would you be weeding out Male/Male, Female/Female, Male Pre-Op/Male Pre-Op, ...etc?

If you have a dating site, then who's to say who should be allowed to date who?  I've always had a problem with Match.com and their "29 points of compatibility" and then exclude same sex dating requests.

From a pragmatic point of view, the success of the site would be determined by traffic, and the more traffic, the better.  So why restrict it?

I'm not saying your idea is invalid, I'm just not understanding.  Can you clarify?  Thanks.

I want a site that is a safe haven for Transexuals that want to date!
...
I truly want to make a positive impact in the transexual community. I know how it feels for a girl...

So it is an admirable goal, but I have to agree with others that your criteria of including some and excluding others just going to make it very difficult for -anyone- to really get behind it.  What about Tfolk who are bisexual, or pansexual?

Isn't this notion of limiting your members going to make you have to also define what is "transsexual" and what is "not trans" and make you exclude people like me who are non-OP by choice?

I am married, but if I weren't I would be lookin' for a date too!  :P

It sounds like a site for ->-bleeped-<- ->-bleeped-<-s. Not that I have anything against ->-bleeped-<-s, but I'm just calling it how I see it.  >:-)

if the only women on the site were post-op women then there wouldn't be that many men trying it.
But the goal of most ts is to get surgery and then disappear off into womanhood...obviously thanks to testosterone lots of us have difficulty with that but even so its surprising how a nice smile and friendly attitude can get a guy interested.
there is freeware available for making dating sites and as there is only likely to be a few visitors each day it will hardly take over your life.
