Is there any possible hope that maybe my health insurance could cover some of the cost of surgeries?

Possibly, check with your insurance policy to find out and talk to your doctor about the coding.

Has your therapist "officially diagnosed" you with Gender Identity Disorder, that might be important. Perhaps there would need to be some corispondance between your therapist and your insurance provider.

Check first, sometimes if diagnosed as GID, means no insurance payments where having it coded as depression means insurance will pay.
