Virginia you are not alone in your reaction to this. Serving Police who have been in a violent situation often react in exactly the same way days after.  Going to see your Doctor or Therapist for support is worthwhile too.

It is certainly important that the police thoroughly investigate the matter. I agree, Barbie, that we pay our taxes to the public police force and expect them to do their jobs. We can't forget though that the police can't be every place at all times. Even if they catch this guy there could be another one. It may only take 5 minutes for the police to arrive at your home but a bad guy could have killed you in less than one minute. Ultimately, your protection comes down to nobody but you. We need less transgender victims and more transgender empowerment.

Yes. Last year, my little daughter was missing while playing with her mates at the playground in my apartment. While my wife took it as a usual thing, I was really nervous, and went to the management office to replay the closed-curciut TV. We could see my daugher play and go out of the apartment with her mates. I searched her by driving my car in the vicinity. Finally I called the police. A patrol car arrived within 5 min and searched my daughter together with me. Finally, she was found in the nearby church with one of her mates.

The more complain, then the more quick response by the police.
