Yes. It is a recurring issue. I use men's at workplace as all know who I am, and women's when I go out. But this simple rule does not work very well in some cases.
I attended an international conference held in a hotel here for 2 days. There are my colleagues and other people who know me very well. And participants from other countries also get familiar to me as we introduce each other.
And, I entered the men's after checking there are few people near the restroom. One of my male colleagues entered following me. We chatted each other, and a stranger came in. He was wide eyed, looking at me.
Of course, I try not to use a urinal, but when I am going out, somebody comes in, looking perplexed.
I do not want to surprise them. And it is a little bit stressful that strangers study me again and again in the restroom.
I am thinking using women's in the next time. But I am a little bit aftraid that I may face my female colleagues or some college students who know me. Of course, my female friends just accept my sharing the restroom with them.
They just joke about it later. But, young female students may react differently...
A kind of trifle dilemma, and any solution will be welcomed, although it would very difficult.
