Hello Amy,

When I am working away from home I usually wear women's T-shirts and jeans or shorts when I
go shopping. I have found that sizes vary a great deal and my favorites are from outdoor recreation companies - prAna, Columbia and Land's End.

They generally are long enough and a large or
extra large fits my 5' 10" 169 pound frame.

I have been fortunate to find a lot of my clothes
at local Goodwill stores. Admittedly, I was very nervous the first time I tried on a skirt and blouse  in a dressing room, but so far no one has said anything  or given me a funny look.

Outlet stores are also great places to shop.

I always carry a cloth tape measure with me so
I can check waist sizes and shirt/blouse lengths
before I consider trying an item on. I usually wear
a size 14 slacks or shorts, but a size 10 or 12 skirt.
Most of my shirts are size large, but my favorite is a medium.

Good luck, and don't be afraid of returning an item
after you get it home and decide it doesn't fit.
