Okay, perhaps I'm overstating the case, but the ever sanctimonious Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy In Media seems to me to be either the most willfully ignorant, high profile, social conservative who lives in the United States, or he's a willful liar.

What was his recent comment that got my attention? Try this from his Accuracy In Media piece Catholic Archbishop Tries to Stop Pro-Gay Military Policy:

In addition to sanctioning discrimination against Christian chaplains and soldiers, repeal of DADT would give special rights to homosexual, bisexual, and even "transgendered" military personnel. Indeed, there is a "Transgender American Veterans Association" in existence that is devoted to "educating the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense on issues regarding fair and equal treatment of transgender and transsexual individuals."

Under repeal of DADT, transgendered soldiers could demand access to therapy, hormone treatment and sexual reassignment surgery.

Seems those who go on the most on this issue have never served their country in any sort of uniform.  Does he have any military service?

If not then he should let the servicemen and ex-servicemen speak for themselves. Most would be more concerned whether someone would back them up in a tight spot, rather than how they see themselves, or what they do off duty.

First of all, let's do separation of church and state, or in this case, church and the US military.  The catholic archbishop needs to realize he is about as important to military policy decision making as Father Mulcahy on M.A.S.H.  The religious faction exists in the military for the religious soldiers who need them for religious purposes.  That's all.

Now, Archbishop Timothy Broglio, the chief shepherd of Catholics in the United States Armed Forces, go take your so called powerful statement and place it in the bottom of a bird cage because that's all the importance it has.  And if you're unsure as to your place in the US military, go watch Father Mulcahy on as many M.A.S.H. episodes as it takes for you to realize that's the most important you will ever be as a military adviser in the US.

Now, let's remove all the importance Kincaid has placed on Father Mulhcahy's Archbishop Broglio's opinion and reassess Mr. Kincaid's article.  I guess there isn't much left once we do that so now we can move on to really important things, like civil rights.
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.
