A new friend from Quebec IMed me as soon as I'd logged in after getting back from a brief electrolysis session (usually only 15 minutes now). She was very excited that Bill C-389 was being debated in the House of Commons. She sent a link to the live feed.
Bill C-389, as you might have read elsewhere, is a private member's bill that was introduced by Bill Siksay, New Democrat Member of Parliament for Burnaby-Douglas in British Columbia (not the riding I live in but nearby). Private member's bills can be introduced only periodically, and they rarely make it through the whole process to become law. But things are going differently this time.
