Hey folks, potential problem with clothes moths, hopefully someone can help me!

Here's what happened:  I moved into a new place back in January.  There wasn't any closet space, so the clothes I had previously had hanging up, I ended up stuffing into a box, and they mostly stayed there for 5 months or so.  Now I'm moving into a new place -- I brought the box over and opened it to put the clothes away, and first thing I noticed was a musty smell of some kind.  Seems reasonable since they were in a box for a long time.  Now here's the problem -- the power isn't on yet at the new place, and it was 11:30 or so at night, so the only light I had was the faint light from my cell phone.  But I think *I think* I saw a couple moths fly out of the box.

So now I'm all in a panic.  For now I stuffed the clothes into one of the drawers in my new room.  The power is getting turned on tomorrow and I'm finishing moving in.  Going to check out the situation with the clothes.  So here's what I'd like to know:

How can I tell if moths have gotten into the clothes?  I know to look for holes and stuff, but for clothes that don't have holes (hopefully all of them! *crosses fingers*) is there a way to tell if moths have gotten into them?  Should I just wash everything right away to be safe?

The other thing is that the clothes box has been sitting in my current room (not in a closet, just sitting on a chair) for months, but I haven't seen any moths flying around, so maybe I'm just imagining things?

It's driving me a little nuts... normally I wouldn't care too much... but I have some nice dresses and shirts in that box!  Aaah!
