http://www.sfbaytimes.com/?sec=article&article_id=13083For Pride month in June, it is entirely appropriate that the art of Mary Patricia Anderson be displayed at Magnet, the gay/bi hub of health and social well being in the Castro, because it is all about drag queen power and is entitled "Glam Community Heroes." Magnet Executive Director Steve Gibson explains, "Mary started this journey two years ago to have this show and was scheduled to have her work displayed last year, but suffered an injury because of the work and was unable to finish the show." He says, "So we bumped her until now."
Anderson moved to San Francisco when she came out after college, "because I felt like a big fish in a small pond in Northampton, Massachusetts." She did singing telegrams for The Balloon Lady, cabaret singing, and many different trades, but says she has always loved drag queens.
