i know this topic was raised a few months ago but i can no longer find it. my breast size is a 40d and as proved yesterday when i put my new binder on they go no where near as flat as i would wish. being in the uk i am at the start of the slow nhs process so its probably going to be about three years before i m okayed for chest surgery. if i have a reduction done now say down to an A Will it ruin my chances later on for good chest reconstruction

I'm kind of where your our at right now I also have a large chest 42DD and have just seen my Dr about things, at the moment I don't have a real binder I'm saving to buy one but what I'm using is a waist compression surport which I bought from the £1 shop and believe it or not it works REALLY well for me I use 2 being large chested.  As for getting a reduction right now I don't know about that sorry.

I don't know about your chances for a successful looking surgery after a reduction, but I can tell you this much. I had a reduction. Down to a low C, high B. I wanted to go smaller, but my plastic surgeon was kind of a moron apparently. Still I'm grateful that it doesn't take as much effort to bind anymore.

My skin is very pale and the scars have faded for the most part. Honestly it looks like a bad photoshop job. lol. The two big lines where normal chest surgery scars would be are there, but the ones running upward, and around the nipples are pretty much invisible now unless you know what you're looking for.

It's been several years now, and they're still more tender than they were before the reduction. Though it is easier to bind now, I also have to be very  careful. If I bind very tightly at all it hurts, a lot, and will continue to ache for a few days afterward.

At least the back pain is gone for the most part. I would suggest being very clear with whoever does your surgery that you want to go as small as possible. Make sure he gets it. I was pretty clear, and I still ended up bigger than I wanted. Though after the surgery I was still relieved to get rid of a good portion of chesticle.

I say, go get a referral to a plastics guy, have them look you over, take pics for insurance purposes if you're after that sort of thing, and see what he says. Doesn't hurt to get a consultation I spose.

Unfortunantly, I was 17 when had reduction surgery, I was DDD-almost an E and was having back trouble.  At the time I didn;t know what transgender was, and I was to afraid to tell them I wanted it all off, doubt would happen anyways.  My grandmother was there to so that wouldn't gone over well.

I didn;t heal so nicely, have lot ugly scars, and I do worry as well how it will look once can finally get it all off.

It pisses me off to because I don't know who did the surgery, the doctor who was supposed to wasn;t there so someone else stepped in.  Not even have a name. Sighs

And at time they only brought me down to a C/D.  I have noticed some shrinking with T over the year been on it though
Every day we pass people, do we see them or the mask they wear?
If you live under a mask long enough, does it eventually break or wear down?  Does it become part you?  Maybe alone, they are truly themselves?  Or maybe they have forgotten or buried themselves so long, they forget they are not a mask?

I had a reduction from 32FF to a D. the surgeon wouldn't go smaller as apparently I had to look proportionate  ::)

I scar easily, and have a set of obvious scars. I'd be interested to know if surgeons can 'tidy up' when you have full top surgery.

As it is, I'm stuck with the 'chesticles' and the scars!
