Reminiscent of the superb "XXY" from Frameline32, "La Boyita" is the story of a young girl named Jorgelina on the verge of puberty who spends the summer on her father's ranch horseback riding and hanging out with a young ranch hand named Mario. A "boyita" is the name for the family camper, but it also has a more significant meaning as one of the children comes to terms with physical changes which are not in the medical text books Jorgelina secretly consults to understand what is happening to her body.
