Whenever i've seen photographs of Phalloplasty results it's always made me very depressed about my options for bottom surgery but now this gives me a little bit of hope! The option to have a normal sized penis that looks realistic is all i could ask for

I've seen a real range of results, ranging from unrealistic to authentic.  There's a guy here in Australia, I know through my networks, and he got the MDL surgery in Europe and the result looks pretty authentic.  They have resolved the 'urethra-length' problem through their urenthroplasty method.  That allows any length phallus you like as part of your surgery option.  What they do, is scarify the underside of the neophallus, upon 'installation', then roll around the scarified area into a tube.

The Foundation where this work is done seems to have a method for getting that slight flare look to the glans.  And they do this procedure to the glans that kinda crinkles the skin in the right way and they tattoo the skin to get the glans that purplish colour.  I'm told that the surgeon has 20,000 hours of sculpting work.

I also saw a British job.  He dropped his pants and pumped it up on TV (documentary, BBC) and really--the result looked quite acceptable.  I've seen some excellent German work, and some fine results (transbucket) for the Perovic Foundation.

I'm about to find out for myself.  I'm heading over in August and MDL is the option I've chosen.

As far as medicine goes now, things will never be 100% perfectly like a biological looking penis, but surgeon's techniques have come very far even in the past few years for phalloplasty. Im aware that it truly isn't for everyone, but I just wanted to point out that quite a lot of the results floating around out there on the internet are out of date, in terms of what surgeons are able to do now.

I have seen results from a few different surgeons, Dr Meltzer, Mr Christopher and Mr Ralph, that I think are great, and there have been guys who have gone out and had their penis' seen and people have not guessed.
   Someone had seen mine (without going into detail) and they couldn't tell. (Few!).

yes, I'm with you.  I've seen some really good work.  I also suspect you can have sculpting work done, in waives, if you like, post op, to get closer to authentic looks.  There are prostheses that have heads on them to make the glans curve in all the right ways, as well.  You don't get that 'vein-y' look on a neophallus.  Pity.  Not all phalluses have that anyway, but the donor tissue has too thick a layer of adipose tissue for that.

I'm getting MDL, and although I have average BMI, you never see protruding veins in the lat area of the body....

I have to agree with you. I did see some post op pics of some and they all looked real enough to me. I mean no penis to me really looks awesome but as long as it gets the job done your good to go with the ladies

To be fair I've just had the 1st stage of radial arm phalloplasty done in the uk and I'm more than happy with the look of it so far. It may not look totally biological but my wife says there is not much difference between it and a bio males.
