Opening the mail at PROMO is, as you can imagine, a pretty routine chore. There are newsletters, junk mail, and bills. You know how it is. So a few weeks ago, I was shocked, thrilled, and a little beside myself when PROMO received an invitation to attend the 2010 Pride Reception at the White House with the President. This very special event took place this past Tuesday, and PROMO was one of only a handful of state-based LGBT advocacy organizations to be invited.
Normally each week as I write our email to you, I try to convey important updates or news important to securing basic legal protections right here at home. So this week, I have to admit to struggling a bit in writing this message.
