Looking for advice for a friend in Texas, US?

Hi Guys

I'm friends with a young kid on facebook. Lets call this kid "M".. So M read an article I wrote about my being trans and my journey so far and decided to contact me to chat about the fact M feels similar but is not ready to do anything and just wanted to talk, find out more about it etc..

I have got a couple of messages from M asking where to go to talk to someone about these feelings but M lives in Amarillo, Texas - now I'm in Australia and I have no idea where Amarillo even is! Let alone where to find trans related help..

So I am appealing to you guys in the States or maybe even by chance in that area - could you let me know of anywhere M can go? Counsellors? Clinics? Anything! M has no one to speak to but me and well to be honest I'm not qualified to help you know - I'm more than happy to listen but feel my friend needs more.

Any help greatly appreciated. If possible I will pass on M's email address (with permission) or try put you in direct contact otherwise am happy to relay anything you guys can give me...

The closest place I can think of to Amarillo Tx that might offer any kind of help or assistance would be Albuquerque Nm to the west.  Thats only 290miles give or take. Or they can try Oklahoma city Ok, thats about 260 miles to the east. I do know that Albuquerque has therapists and doctors willing to help trans people, no clue about Ok.

If they are anywhere in Texas that is not Austin, Dallas, or El Paso... I'd personally recommend they go out of there way to get out of the state.

Houston only has the first openly lesbian mayor in the country... we couldn't possibly be a queer friendly town. 

Of course we are also 600 miles from Amarillo. Best advice for the dude is to move to a bigger city. More employment options, more dating options, plenty of homos and t people.

I didn't see Houston on the list of trans protected cities in texas, thats why I didn't list it. I could be wrong though.
