Have you ever met one of those people — you know, the sort that when you look at them you can tell they are one of those "empty shell" people, the life in them sucked out by something in their lives.

Each of those people had a time in their lives where they were at a crossroads, some place where they had to turn left or right, and instead they just sat down and stayed there.

With apologies to Francis Mayes, Audrey Wells and Sandra Oh, transition is a lot like that for some people.
