I'm five-foot four-inches, and 250ish pound. I wear a 44DD bra. I have a male name i go by and dress semi-manly, but other than that I haven't really started to transition. I am considering buying a binder. I was wondering if anyone of ya'll have a similar build, and could suggest a binder that won't compress me around the middle too much and will mainly just bind my moobs.

Have you checked out the Style 988 binder at ftm.underworks.com ?

QuoteNew! Extreme Chest Concealer FTM Chest Binder
Extreme! Chest Only Compression! Relaxed Mid-Section!

Inside a regular looking cotton spandex tank top are double reinforced powernet panels of 30% Spandex and 70% Nylon. But these panels are only present on the chest and the upper back leaving your mid-section with minimal compression and very relaxed. This is the perfect solution for one looking for very strong chest binding without discomfort of tummy compression. Made in the U.S.A.

Since I don't like having my stomach compressed either I'm planning on getting one of those myself.

I have considered it, but I've also looked at the tri-top (983) by underworks, mainly because i've got a 50-ish inch waistline. In all the pictures on underworks' site the binders look pretty snug around the middle, and in none of the pictures do any of the models look like me (my top is smaller than my waist). Fortunately, that sort of ratio is almost good for passing, although not healthy in any sense. I can almost pass if I wear a loose bra and make the moobs look like a cis-fat-guy's moobs.

You likely won't want the tri-top with a shape like you describe. All binders other than the 988 have rolling-up issues, and they roll worse on people whose bodies are curving outward at the bottom of the binder.

You're right that they all fit pretty slim, but the cotton and nylon they use are extremely soft and stretchy. The only semi-rigid binding material is the powernet (found in the top part of the 988, as well as throughout the 997 and 983 and on the inside layer of the 998). The bottom part of the 988, like the other non-Powernet binders, will pretty much stretch to fit no matter how big you are, within reason. I could fit 2 of me inside my extra-small Cotton Concealer without exceeding the fabric's stretch capability. And I'm not that tiny.

Well I'm a big guy my Underworks binder came in the post today and I've found it doesn't flatteren me out and yes I ordered a size smaller for a tighter fit, the size I got was an L I'm going to send it back tomorrow (it was bought in the UK so thats a good thing so no costly P&P) and exchange it for an M, I wear a 42DD bra and weigh about 16 stone and am about 5'9 tall although I'm a pretty stocky build very broad shoulders back etc.

two questions:

1. which style binder did you order? I'm considering the 988
2. how many pounds are 16 stone?

I dont like compression on my stomach for obvious reasons.. so I have always just bought the binder I wanted and simply cut off the rest of it.. to make it just fit like a sports bra thing.

It has crossed my mind, but i hadn't strongly considered it. I might now that someone else says something. when i order it, i could always try it on first and go from there.
