Does HRT sufficiently increase breast size without surgery?

So, if you are just wanting average breasts and are not trying to rival Dolly Parton, does HRT do the job or is top surgery also usually needed?

That entirely depends on your age and your genes I am affraid

No one can predict it.

I have F cup breasts and I've never been near a drop of silicone, but I come from a big busted family and I started my HRT in my early twenties...

I am a B cup, edging toward a C.  And this was after 27 months on HRT and an Orchidectomy.

YMMV.  It is all up to genetics and your age at the start.

Wait at least 2 years after starting HRT to even think about a BA.

Actually, I suggest waiting a couple of years after GRS to consider BA.  I wish I had.  Mine grew some more after surgery and I had my implants taken out.  Now I have natural C cups, but very little sensation, and none of it pleasant.

That makes me so happy to hear. My sisters and mom have really big boobs and I'm pretty young. I hope to start HRT within the year or next. I pray to god that I do. I'm looking into counseling at an LGBT center but I have to find out if I can get the HRT letter from them =/ Wish me luck that I can!

So, the older you are the smaller they are likely to be?  Nice to know that surgery is not an automatic necessity.

What about sag?  If you start HRT in your late 40's, are your breasts that age or since they are new, would they appear younger?  When do you have to start dealing with sag?  My man breasties sag a bit now, will they sag more with HRT or perk up?

IDK for sure.  But I used to hear that one of the common lol moments was when women your own age would be jealous that your T&A were perkier.  But I hear also that M2Fs tend to delelop what are known as "droopy dogs."  I've seen a lot of HRT results in my time, though, and I think everybody's different.  I've seen all kinds of different responses to the joo joo juice.

Everyone is different... It all depends on your individual genetics... If mom had a nice pair of girls, chances are usually pretty good that yours will be somewhat like hers

As for age, I started HRT about 8 1/2 months ago just after my 48th B-Day and I'm sportin' a pair of B-cups already  :icon_chick:

I've been one of the unlucky ones.  My breast size isn't the biggest deal on earth to me and the smaller they are, the less the annoying factor, so I can deal.

I do think they prolly would help with getting a bf, but like all things, some guys like them big, some don't care.  Maybe, in the end, it would be better to get a guy that will look you in the eyes anyway. =P

I noticed while growing up that women compare boobs and sometimes I've caught myself comparing

But I don't really view it as a competition... Prolly 'cause I'm the one feeling envious most of the time

It's all luck of the draw pretty much anyway  :P

Quite.

I think there is a difference between factually comparing notes and the rather insecure and boastfull mine is bigger than yours approach.

What you get is what you get. It certainly isn't a point scoring exercise unless someone is mega insecure in which case I feel really sorry for them because there are far better things to worry about.

Like telling people how long ago you became post-op  ;)
Touche'

Although from my perspective that is, again, just a simple fact of life and one which is relevant because it colours my view of things considerably.

I am almost certainly a lot less tolerant now of some of the trivial sillyness that I can recall seeming important to me when I was going through it all...

... and as there is no proper profile page on this forum with an "about me" paragraph there is no other place to let people know where I am coming from, which is basically the perspective of someone a lot older and hopefully with just a teeny bit more experience. :)

HEY!  I resemble that remark.

But sometimes it really is needed to put things in perspective, like how out of date my views might be.

I have been on HRT for years and grew nice very firm B cups. I'm lucky very very sensitive nipples.  ;D

The majority of trans women under 40 will get B-C cup breasts if they allow 6-8 years for their second puberty to run its course.
However, the real issue here is how wide the chest of the individual is. 'Normal' sized breasts will look small on a big barrel chest.
If you have a wide chest, implants may be the only way that your breasts will look in proportion.
Fixating on breast size can be very unhealthy though. Many cisgender women have small breasts and are perfectly happy with them.
FYI, breasts are annoying, painful and barely worth the trouble. Anyone who tells you differently is probably engaging in a bit of  ->-bleeped-<-.

Women with big breasts will tend to say they're awful after they grow up. Women with small breasts will be happy, get implants, or bitch about being flat. To think of it about  ->-bleeped-<- instead of self image, body image, and how people look at you is pretty absurd. People with curly hair want straight, and vice versa. When I was buying my last bra (I needed a C cup due to my wider chest, though I am a solid B that looks smaller to me, because of the chest size, and the fact that my nipples are so small. I've never seen a woman's nipples as small as mine and most men have bigger. It really bothers me) most of the women at VS said that they wore super miracle pushups at work, and that women in service/sales industries bought them for better tips and sales, very often.

I've been on estrogen to some level for almost 11 months, spiro a few more than that and avodart much longer. I'm firm B's at 24.

Stepping in as a Mod.

I think we need to be sensitive here.

There are girls on this site who are extremely upset by their breast development. People opinions about body changes are fine but we are all different and what is casual talk to some is painful to others.

I know many of the guys feel the same way about penile growth.

Lets be sensitive, body image is a very emotive issue for humans, and maybe for none humans; cuttlefish go nuts if they see the wrong visual signals

Your breasts don't annoy you?

No, because I'm not female to male. My bra doesn't always fit right because I have scoliosis, but it actually reduces my back pain.

Are you crazy?

Breasts are a part of a complete female self-image. Or did you not notice that cosmetic breast reconstruction is covered by insurance after women have mastectomies for breast cancer? Womens' clothes are tailored to fit breasts; especially if you have a large frame, your clothes won't fit right without them.

They also feel really good when my girlfriend gropes or bites them and makes me feel like that much more of a woman in her eyes as they grow fuller and she compliments them and admires them. Because she likes women much more than men, I would not feel comfortable with her, sexually, if I did not have increasingly female sexual traits. Being that I have a penis, after all, if I didn't have SOMETHING below my neck that made me look female, it would be depressing.

In other words, get off your high horse, plenty of women are happy to have breasts for how people react to them and for their own image satisfaction. They're part of being a woman. And for trans people, it's a mark of pride to watch the body feminize - breasts being the main thing.

I started HRT 7 months ago yet I am still stuck with AA cups. I'll probably wait at least 3 years though before considering BA....I really want C-cups.

  •

Rosa

I don't think that I personally would want gigantic boobies, especially with my back problems.  I'm glad to know that HRT can provide you with adequate breasts.

From all the research I've done online concerning HRT and it's effects, I have learned only one thing... not to expect anything. The way a person's body will react to HRT is extremely ambiguous and varies from person to person. Age may or may not be a factor, family history may or may not be a factor... from what I can tell, there is no way to create any kind of a table we can cross-reference because the end results vary too much from person to person.

I myself was under the impression that family genetics had a lot to do with it, but have seen elsewhere that that information is not actual fact. I have since realized that breast size isn't really the ruler by which femininity is measured, and I will simply accept and be happy with whatever I get. Besides, padding and push-up bras can do wonders, even for A cups.
