So, I had this shelf unit stereo for 10 years that had dual cassette, 5 disc changer and Aux input. Had lots of bells and whistles along with built in karaoke, DSP front surround, something like a 12 band EQ and even a built in slot machine program for the display.
The last few years it's been bugging out on me, the AM/FM receiver quit working, the CD tray would cycle through and open up from time to time and the control buttons for stuff like the EQ and DSP quit working. Most of these weren't much of a problem because I'd run my laptop into the AUX jack and use my laptop as a 'juke-box'. Well, it powers down on it's own now and wont come back up.
I've had a rough time looking for a replacement, mostly because of the cost of a new shelf unit and because I no longer need a CD player or cassette player. I thought about just getting a computer speaker set as a replacement but I want AM/FM with out having to stream it off the internet.
Today, I've found a solution !
I was at the pawn shop doing my normal looking around and found a RCA Model RT2770 Home Theater Receiver with AM/FM tuner
(link to the item from Overstock.com). I asked the guy if we could hook it up real quick and he said sure. The sound is FAR better then if I went with just some computer speakers, and to top the deal off I asked the guy how much he wanted for it.... $60 and the thing looks like it's right out of the box !!!!!!!
SOLD

just thought I would share.
