When thinking about how is herpes spread, remember that there are two main types of the disease. Type 1, known as HSV-1, is most commonly the cause of the oral version, often called fever blisters or cold sores. Type 2, known as HSV-2 is the main cause of genital herpes. Both oral and genital are spread in similar ways and both are very contagious.
It is important to keep in mind that the spread of herpes happens very easily. Because the virus is transmitted through physical contact, any skin to skin contact can potentially be an opportunity to pass on the virus.
Herpes stays in the body for life, even though the symptoms may come and go. When the symptoms are present, it is called a "herpes outbreak". Many people make the mistake of assuming they cannot pass the virus on to their partner if they are not experiencing an outbreak. However, this is not the case. The virus is still there even if the person who has it is not exhibiting any symptoms. (EIO)

Listen dude, once your permanent teeth come in and puberty has come and gone, IT IS NEVER GOOD - IF NOT BAD, IF NOT
VERY BAD - TO FIND SOMETHING IN OR ON YOUR BODY TODAY THAT WAS NOT THERE YESTERDAY.
THERE IS NOTHING,
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING (excepting pregnancy, and even that's not 100% as we all know), good about that at all. Have someone look at it and hope its something like a cyst rather than a viral deal.
And I've followed your odyssey, and I know you've been homeless, doing the couch surfing deal, little to no money, and that kind of life, as I know I did it for a while, is a lot less sanitary in a lot of ways. Nor, I'm sure, are you eating right, which leaves your body very vulnerable. Second, you work at a nightclub, a gay nightclub. 40 years in clubs and I can say that nightclubs are not exactly setting the standards for sanitation. And sometimes, particularly those clubs at the margins, there are no standards for sanitation at all. (That's why Dr. Kat never - EVER - orders anything but a bottle of Bud and at that I want to see him/her open the cap. Because Dr. Kat has been in marginal nightclubs (more than once) after most of the lights are turned off, and then back on, and it's way more than kinda gross. And that's before I did show and club janitorial and maintenance work at some big clubs.) And I know that drag shows tend to the more sketch clubs and not the premier ones, so... It may well be possible to have caught something without having 'done' anything, but just by contact in those general circumstances.
