Hi my name is Tali
(at least thats the name I like for now!)
I'm 24 and live in Australia.
Not sure where to start, I've always felt incomplete with myself, I'm pretty sure i'm MTF, but i'm not 100% - going to get a therapist/doctor.
I found this page about a year ago, and finally decided to start posting and talking to other people.
I want to start living full time as a woman, but I want to relocate to another state so my family don't find out, I know, I know, i'm living for my family but I love them and I cant bear the thought of losing them, so for now its still a secret.
Are there any places to go or people in Australia? I'm in SA btw, I found 1 support group but you have to be on hormones and have your surgery booked.
Anyway sorry for the long post and thanks for giving me a place to be me

Hi Tali

Great to hear from you.  I'm in Adelaide. So besides you now being part of the Susan family you are part of mine, if you wish .

There are lots of people at Susan's and lots of Aussie girls and boys. The network and support in Australia is good.  But it varies between states.

There are great support groups in Adelaide, who meet regularly and provide heaps of fun; with dinners, cocktail parties, movie trips, golf days. And of course as you meet people you develop friendships. And there is absolutely nothing like meeting other TGs to realise there is nothing wrong with you.

Personally, I really like our Australian gals and guys here!  Cindy, your fellow Austrialian above, is right.  There's nothing like connecting with other people just like you.  It REALLY helps.  Here's the place to do that. 

Give your family a chance.  Maybe it's not such a great idea to just up and leave.  You are quite young (relative to some of us here (myself most definitely included)), and I'm telling you, "Give your family a chance." 

It's challenging enough getting started in The Real World and is very much more so as a transperson.  We live in The Real World.  The Real World runs on money.  Poverty and desperation are NOT good options.  Just my opinion.  Just think about it before you up and leave.

Great words and very true, I definately want to embrace my new family, I've tried most of my life to be a boy and then a man, it just left me feeling hollow, expressing my feminine side is like opening my eyes for the first time, if you get a chance have a listen reflection by christina aguilera it sums up my feelings beautifully.
As for my picture, what can I say i'm a Buffy
Fan, and a red head so it was a naturel choice, though I'd like to update with a picture of me, en femme of course!
Anyway, nice to meet you, and you're right about susans, not only has it prompted me to do something about how I feel, but has been a real pillar of strength for me to know i'm not alone and there are others out there that feel like this
