I hope I haven't duplicated a thread topic - I looked through but couldn't seem to find one on 'House' :)

I've recently become so addicted to this series that I've budgeted to get the Series 7 DVDs as soon as they come out in the UK on 26th September, lol!

It's so formulaic - all of the episodes conform to the same blueprint, lol - but it's so CLEVER!  House is such a brilliant character - I love the Sherlock Holmes parallels - even the fact he lives at number 221B, lol!

I must admit, during the first few episodes, I couldn't get past the fact that it was Hugh Laurie doing an American accent - I'm so used to seeing him in British comedies, I couldn't stop thinking, 'What the hell's Prince George doing with that syringe?  And why's he pronouncing "lilacs" to rhyme with "sky larks"?'  Then, at some unspecific point, I was sucked in, and he BECAME Doctor House.  It was eerie, the way it happened, without my noticing.

Before I knew it, I was watching an episode of Blackadder III and thinking, 'What the hell's Doctor House doing wearing that silly wig?'
'And I thank you for those items that you sent me:
The monkey and the plywood violin.
I practiced every night, now I'm ready,
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin.'

First We Take Manhattan, Leonard Cohen
