Today, I had an appt with my GP at the VA.  After all business was done I was able to tell her that I am TG and wanted to talk about getting on HRT.  She sais that she is not that familiar with handling HRT.  She then referred me to the Endo clinic.  Now I wait for them to call me with my appt.   Hopefully they won't take too long.  But, knowing the VA ithe appt will be a couple of months from now.
At least I was able to talk to my DR.  I wasn't sure I would be able to do that.

Some VA hospitals are trans-supportive and some are not. The supportive ones with trans-knowlegeable enocrinologists will likely provide prescriptions and bloodwork so long as you have the HRT authorization letter from your counselor. Be sure to bring your authorization letter to the endo appointment.

If the endo you see doesn't handle TS vets, ask if another endo does.

I began with the VA and then shifted to my local Naval Hospital until I was phased out to Medicare at age 65.

I am not sure about this VA.  I was seeing a shrink (non-gender) that didn't want to deal with me.  Told me to go to the U of M if I wanted to persue my tg issues.  And stated that the VA won't pay for it.  My main concern is that my therapist won't give me a letter until I have a DR that will prescribe HRT.  She doesn't want to address it to "Dear DR Anyone".  So I have to find one that will and then go get my letter.  Then go back to the Dr.
