Art Exchange 2.0: Fantasy

I was on vacation and then I come back home and the net is down and I can't remember the details of what I was supposed to do so I waited, then net comes back up and I look at the assignment again, read it, think, read it again, sleep on it, and today I did a basic preliminary sketch of what my subconscious has thrown back up into the conscious and told me "this is what it should be" and now I'm hoarding references and letting my prelim sketch age so when I get to work on second and third, I know what I "want" from 'em.

Funny thing though, somewhere in the back of my mind is a "DEMAND" that this be done with acrylic paints and nothing else... so I'm a little concerned I "might" be late.

If you feel like you might be a little bit late but can still finish by September 6 (the handout date), just give me a heads up so I know not to worry about calling in a substitute for you-- it's fine. 83 I know you're trustworthy and that vacation cut into your much-needed art-time.

I have started this exchange, though! I'm really enjoying what I've got so far, even if it is a...very strange execution of the subject matter that I was handed. Hope that's okay.

...oh, and by "very strange execution," Tree means "FANTASTICALLY EPIC INTERPRETATION." Just for the record.

I've finished drawing out the requested part of the picture, and now I just need to color it and fill in the background.  I like how it's turning out!

(I'm sending out reminders to everyone who hasn't officially turned in art, just for good measure... however, I must say I feel just a little bit silly sending reminders to people who I already know are practically done. x3 Better overkill than underkill, though?)

I finished a couple days ago, scanned it today, and I'm going to work on messing with the colors to try to get it as true to the original as possible.  Our scanner isn't that great, apparently...

Day three of actually painting.
Hubby's impressed and says "It's really good, but... no offense, but that doesn't really look like your style at all."

Struggling! The drawing is done but it needs lining and coloring. Classes started this week and I even have class on saturday! That should be illegal I'll have it sent in time but it may not be %100 finished.

If you need to, you can do what I told Miniar he could do-- take the extra week between the deadline and handouts to finish the last bit up, if need be, since you'll be close-to-done by then, anyways. You just have to promise you'll actually send it in before the handouts, and you're good. (o__o)d

Had a sudden panic today about how near the deadline was (it's official: holidays make you lose track of time!) but yep, yep, working on it. Will probably be able to make the deadline, but might need to go out and get a new pen, mine shed its cap long ago apparently (much to my dismay) and has dried up!
