hello!
recently i read a really interesting article about sexual research. the author talked about the gender role, which is declared by the society (things like boys should be strong and girls should be cute etc.). i think my gender identity is male, i just don't fit into the gender role, which is given by society.

i'm curious who would say the same.

In some societies, the men are the ones who wear make-up and stay home and do everything that our society classifies as "female".

Thought I'd throw that out there.

I don't adhere to the gender roles that our society deems.  I identify as male, however I run around doing traditionally female things because I like to do them.

This makes sense to me. I'm having to learn a lot of masculine gender role oriented behaviors - they don't come naturally to me, although I know that my gender is male, but they do help others intuit my gender more easily. Since that does matter a lot to me, I make a conscious effort to act in the masculine gender role. I think the majority of my dysphoria is caused by the assumption of my peers that I will act in the feminine gender role, or their assumption when I do that it means my identity is female; my anatomy would be a bearable inconvenience if not for the fact that it marks me as female in the eyes of others.
Really thought-provoking concept, actually. Thanks.

I identify as (gay - Not sure if that matters) male, but I like to do things society deems is female too. I'm not into sports. I hate beer, never mind the fact I'm allergic to alcohol. I crochet, I like to shop, I play with make up, I like to watch those cake shows on TV. etc.

I prefer the company of males though. If I could find a male shopping partner, I'd be set.

My gender identity is androgyne.
Gender roles are a blurry, vague, confusing group of palmtrees growing on the bottom of the ocean while attacked by dragons.

I understand the concept of gender role vs. identity... but when I try to apply it to myself, it all kind of falls apart!

I guess my gender identity is kinda-sorta "male" but not quite 100%,  whereas my gender role is more on the "female" side of things, at least according to the culture I'm surrounded by, though I don't really consider myself female at all. But it's all fuzzy... sometimes overanalyzing it makes it even more confusing, so usually I just sum it up by saying I'm an androgynous guy (if I describe it at all, which I often avoid to begin with), because the more specific I am, the more often I have to revise my description!

Hi, can you please tell me where they do this type of thing?  I am really interested in knowing.

I hate the assumption that Males like this and females like that
the gender roles that society forces on us is the main reason why I don't want the world to see me as Male or female I hate some things that I'm supposed to Like and there are female things that I don't like either but there are other things about being male I do like and things I would like about being female as far as gender roles.  I live by what feels right for me regardless of if it is seen as right or wrong because of societys gender rules/roles
