How much does SRS cost?

I hope this hasn't been asked, but I've been looking around and I've found a few different numbers but they are very different so I don't know which is right. I'm just curious, I'm years away from it, but it'd be nice to know about how much it'll be.

I paid U$18000 with Marci Bowers, but last time I checked, her fees had been raised to U$21000 in 2009.

Totally depends on who you go to and indeed how you pay.

In the UK on the NHS it is free, but the downside is that you may have to wait and as a result many of us opt to go privately and pay.

In the UK as a private patient you would pay between £9000 and £12000 ($12000 to $16000)

If you go to some surgeons in the US or Canada you can pay anything from $12000 up to $25000

At the same time there are some perfectly competent surgeons in Thailand who will do the job for about $8500 although the best ones charge much closer to US prices. There are also some who are even cheaper, but the suspicion there is that it is too cheap to be believable and I personally would not take the risk.

As this is a job which is going to last you a lifetime I would caution against necessarily taking the cheaper options, although having said that I have read reviews from people who have, and have been very satisfied with the results.

Choosing a surgeon is a very personal thing and owes as much to research, listening to other patients, and indeed to corresponding with the surgeon, as it does to money.

At its best, you want a surgeon with whom you have corresponded and felt that you have been able to establish some sort of understanding, and examples of whose work you have seen (and they all have example pictures some of which are on the net).

I've heard of girls going to Thailand for SRS but I'd never be able to bring myself to travel out of the country to get it, unless maybe Canada idk lol. But that's like right next door to US. And idk, I'm fully aware that this is for the rest of my life, so it has to be a good one. I mean I love boys so I gotta get something that they will like! lol.

I've recently found two prices for a thailand surgeon that I'm looking into but I'm not sure which is right, I guess like jenny said.. it's good to decide on a surgeon first.. and contact them directly (obviously). But yeah for US it's on average 15,000-20,000 from what I've heard.
I've more or less decided from people I know who recommend a certain someone. I guess results speak for themselves!!
I think I'm still in shock from finding out that yes it is time to go on that proverbial waiting list. o_0

well don't forget the possibility of coming to the UK.

From what I have seen, and indeed now have between my legs, i would say that we have at least two and possibly three world class surgeons here. (I've been post op since the mid 80's but I recently had an "upgrade" to V2.0 )

In particular Phil Thomas, and James Bellringer (The man who I chose to do my recent upgrade of my old vag that had been originally done in the mid 80's. I chose him in preference to a US surgeon whom I was also seriously considering.)

Both Mr Thomas and Mr Bellringer are less expensive than the US surgeons, but to judge by what I can see on my own body and the pics on the net of the work of others I would say that the UK boys do every bit as good a job!

So if you don't fancy the culture shock which is Thailand, and want somewhere safe and almost like staying home, then come to the UK girls. We would welcome you with open arms, and in this current recession, to be frank, our economy needs your dollars badly!

The UK is somewhere I'd also consider! Haha I forgot to mention it. I'd also love to travel their for the sake of it, so I could kill two birds with one stone! Haha. Either way I have lots of time to wait and consider and decide. I'm still pre-hrt but dammit I want a vagina already! Haha. But really I think it's best to be as informed as possible. I feel dumb when people ask me stuff and I'm like huh I should know that shouldn't I? hahaha.

as listed on her website, Dr. McGinn charges $17,500.00 USD which includes surgery, anesthesia, a 5 day hospital stay, starter dilators, and all your follow up visits.

Remember that the cost of surgery is not the only cost you will have, you have to consider healing time off work and the supplies you will need, plus the cost of genital electrolysis if your surgeon requires it, paying the rent while you're healing, and lots of other little costs (more dilators cost up to $55 each) that add up quickly.

It looks like I have more options that I thought haha. I was also thinking what to do about rent when I recovering. I will probably still be living with my bestie but either way..idk. I'll probably just save until I have more than enough.
