'90210' Goes Gay? Whatevs. 'Degrassi' Goes Trans!

Well, actually, they never had a T... until now. As the tenth season of Degrassi (formerly Degrassi: The Next Generation) premieres this week on TeenNick in the U.S., viewers will be introduced to Adam Torres.
The new member of Degrassi's 10th grade class is portrayed by 15-year-old female actor Jordan Todosey (best known on both sides of the border as Lizzie McDonald in the Disney Channel sitcom Life With Derek). Adam is hiding the fact he was born a girl. No doubt another new character introduced this season -- Adam's homophobic stepbrother Drew (played by Luke Bilyk) -- has something to do with that.
