So a while ago I got some Tri Top binders and they are great in making my chest flat. The only problem I've been having with it is the bottom of the binder seems to want to bunch up on me, and then compresses really firm around my rib cage, sometimes making it uncomfortable. I've tried things like folding the bottom of the binder under and inside a few inches, or folding the binder up and over the chest (the latter method works best to reduce discomfort, but then there is a gaudy line showing through my shirts on my chest). Has anyone ever tried modifying their Tri Tops to fix this uncomfortable bunching on the bottom of the binder? I've thought about cutting off a few inches on the bottom of the binder, but I'm worried whether or not doing that would lessen the compression ability of the Tri Top. I don't want to take scissors to my binder to later find out I ruined a good binder.

i've cut binders before, the only issue i had with that is that the bottom half inch or so will roll up a little. if you can afford it you should find a tailor who will shorten it for you. it's rather complicated because they use flat seams and then put these "bands" over the bottom seam, i don't know how it's called. i don't think it would be more than $15 to shorten it though and it will not affect the compression, after all you dont want to bind your rib cage.

This happens to me and it used to be really irritating, but I barely notice it now. Don't know if you've tried it, but just flipping your binder inside out works - at least it did for me.
