Ok I live in the US, and will probably have more then enough money for my SRS surgery.  I am thinking of doing it with Dr.Chettawut in Thailand, however I am not 100% sure.  I was wondering how many girls on susan's had theirs done with him, and how they liked the results.

While I can afford a US doctor i have seen mixed reviews of everyone.  I understand that SRS results involve a lot of factors and therefore are not guaranteed, however i do want to shift the odds of success in my favor.

I hope someone can give me some insight on Thailand doctors.

Hi Izumi

I've been back at this coalface of seeking out info on (current) Doc's... and once more its no easier task around this time than it was back in the 1990's! Back then the idea of going 'international' for help was a non-starter.....

And realistically and financially the choices were much more limited. In the end the guys that helped me personally were all based in the UK. Mr. Cheesman, Mr. Dai Davies and Mr. Michael Royle whom did my SRS...

I was lucky, mainly complication free and happy with the outcomes as they transformed by ability to have a fulfilling life...

Now as I hit my fifties, I've sold a business and am now on the journey of some improvements this year too... some 18 years later!!

So far I've been to Hungary for my teeth (smile) makeover - 26 veneers/crowns - with an oral surgeon Dr. Batorfi, this entailed being in Budapest for 3 weeks over a two month period.

I've some Lipo/Labiaplasty booked with Toby Meltzer this month, (someone cancelled) so I got there slot....fly out in two weeks... I think he's a good choice for SRS, he does so many procedures a year you see...

My face lift with some minor FFS tweak I have to decide on yet, (Nov/Dec time I hope) will do an X-ray consult with Toby, but I liked Dr Bart van de Ven, when I met him....though some recently have doubted his success rate. He works in Belgium.

I'll do a consult with Di Maggio & Yaremchuk too, as the funds for all this are still considerable and I have a fixed budget for all...

However back in the 90's I had a key mate that went through with Royle at the same time as me... she went to Suporn for her FFS and was delighted with the outcome last year. (She lives in Aussie now)....she said his SRS is good, when she chatted with girls out there....

In the end I think its more a case of knowing that your doctor is good 'enough' rather than is he/she the best? Best is subjective....

All of them have great success once at a certain skill level.... all have bad days too or patients that don't come through quite as expected...

The variables are just sooo great....and beyond anyone's true control, risk is always involved. A good surgeon is one whom is there for you if things turn tricky....

But you can do a great deal to help your chances, so work on that.

Political stability is an issue too for me.... Thailand is a poor country so you need to watch what happens there carefully.

Good luck...

I'm currently living in Australia so Thailand is close enough to be my main consideration. Even though I'd happily go with at least two US surgeons that I have seen amazing results of. Thailand is only a six hour flight and they also have outstanding surgeons. Plus a flight to the US would cost more etc etc.

I considered Dr. Chettawut and Dr. Suporn as my top two thailand choices. Suporn is more renowned but is also more expensive. Chettawut requires electroysis but Suporn doesn't though Suporn has a longer recovery period (three months - three months of dilation three times a day - six months before true healing).
I have friends who have been to both and both are very happy with their results which I guess shows that both surgeons get good results.

From the pictures I've seen myself I'd say one looks better than the other... but it's really personal opinion, so it depends what you're looking for... and what you can afford. I know this info is pretty basic but if you have any specific questions....

Hey Izumi

I had surgery earlier in the year with Dr Sanguan Kunaporn in Phuket and am extremely happy with the result.  You will find that there are alot of mixed opinions on whether to go to Thailand or not
and I find it funny how ones who haven't been there for surgery can comment.  As with all things do your homework.

I have heard mixed reviews from several earlier Chettawut patients however I have also heard some good reviews from several patient who have been to him this year so it seems his techniques have improved.

I  looked at Thailand closely as coming from Australia or choice of local surgeons is very limited and travel to Thailand is very cheap but this is probably a bit different when travelling from the US.

Most of the girls here seem to go to the following three surgeons;
Dr Sanguan Kunaporn
Dr Suporn
Dr Cettawut

Good luck
