Demand the right to work!

Countless LGBT people have lost their livelihoods because our government has failed to take swift action on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).

* In 29 states, it's still legal to fire a worker for being lesbian, gay or bisexual.
* And in 38 states, a person can be fired just for being transgender.

This is not acceptable and we won't stand for it!

It's time for us to stand up and demand our civil rights.

ENDA is an even more important issue than "Don't Ask, Don't tell". DADT is job protection for the military people only, whereas ENDA protects all of us in every state. Both are important, and need to be passed.

Please know, however, that the elimination of DADT still will not allow transgender individuals to serve in the military. Existing service members who are trans, will be discharged as soon as the come out. New people will not even be allowed into the services since they will not pass the psychological screening.

Trans discrimination must be ended. Call or write your elected officials to support ENDA and the elimination of DADT.

In my mind when trans discrimination ends when the other will end.

The only work I've ever been able to scrape up since High School 4.5 years ago is UPS as a Seasonal Driver Helper... earning just over or else just less than 1K per year. I was going to be hired in, but the economy tanked... going in for Peak #3 this year, if they even need us "outsiders" to pull all the heavy weight this year.

I've tried and tried and tried, but no matter where else I apply, I never get the job. I'm pre-everything apart from appearing and presenting as male, except for that my ID credentials state "Female" and I'm forced to spit out x-birth-gender-name every time. Unless I go Drag-Queen to interviews, it's never going to happen and I would HATE myself for having to resort to that kind of trickery... they'd probably just fire me under a bogus excuse anyway once I stopped deceiving them that I'm "female" after getting in.

So much for "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness"... can't have any of those without a job!
