Hi everyone, I'm Charlotte (mtf). I came out as trans 2 years ago...still having problems with my parents coming to terms with everything but I've been very lucky with other family members and friends-very supportive! I'm going to college in august and in December I'll be starting HRT

Thanks everyone! I'm so happy I found this place. This is actually my brothers dog...my brothers another one whos been very supportive. He's getting married next summer and i'm a bridesmaid to his fiancee I'm really blessed to have family members who are there for me. Just gotta work on the parents and it'll be fine!

Hi, Charlotte:

That's SO excellent that some of your family members are on board with your true identity and desire to transition.

Give your parents time.  Of course, you understand that they have to make a big-time, major-league paradigm shift.  That's hard to do.  Some people have a real hard time with it. 

Stay open to them.  Try not to argue with them.  Give them plenty of leeway and sufficient time.  They'll come around.  Keep on loving them.  Love conquers all sounds trite, but it's often true.
