Hello Lovelies

I've been on Just Estrogen for quite some time now and I'm still a little unsure about certain things lol
At my last appointment With My Endo (which will be a year ago in September) i was 6 months into my HRT and I asked for Spironolactone.
He told me that I didn't need so i just kind of said "whatever" and just forgot about it.

But the majority of the people I talk to tell me that I should be put on it.
and i don't want to not be on it if I should.
I see my endo again in september so i kind of just wanted to accumulation information so that if i were to ask for it, i can have a reason this time lol

Have your hormone levels tested.  If you are not within range of a natal woman, then by all means you should be.

Ok Thank you Ms. Janet Lynn :)

Would you happen to know what the levels are?
I'm nervous that my Testosterone and Estrogen are Competing

You can check out them here. http://www.keratin.com/ab/ab012.shtml

And you should want them tested so you know for yourself.

After consulting with various Endocrinologists SRS Surgeons, and from what I've researched, IMHO the answer to your question would be YES.

Spiro is usually given at the same time as E. Some Endos, prefer not to though, and go the E only route for starters. Spiro reduces T production by various glands... it also competes with T for the same cellular receptors... which in lay terms means, Spiro will reduce the effects T has on your body. It also can cause some breast tissue growth, which is one of the more desirable side effects. So for MTF HRT this is a good thing. See my other thread in this forum for more info.

As indicated if your T level is within those of natal women no.  I personally know of several girls who had very low T levels from the start and have never taken spiro.  This has not effected their feminisation one bit.  Just because others take a certain medication don't think you have to, we are all different.  Be guided by your endo.

Be more guided by your blood test results.  You have a right to be informed about what is going on with your body, to seek out a second opinion, and to receive the treatment you deserve.

I found Spiro to be a relatively safe drug.  It takes A LOT for an overdose to occur.  That stated, I still advocate going only by what prescriptions you have been given and to not self-medicate.
