Just commenting from experience; way back when I first became a member here I too was very envious of those who were able to undergo SRS, and while I had plans for my own, I took the opportunity to contact them and ask how they were able to fund their surgery, trying to turn a negative emotion into a positive.
We didn't have the count down thingys back then so one didn't really notice that someone was close too or about to have surgery. Personally my surgery was personal enough that I kept it quiet until about a week before I left for Montreal.
Yep it can be tough seeing others move on when we are seemingly being left behind but each of us is different, different circumstance, financial status, medical conditions that sometimes place road blocks in our path. Apart from being prevented from having surgery due to medical reasons, there are ways around the other obstacles. Often it's just a matter of having to make sacrifices and sacrificing something to achieve happiness is really not a sacrifice.
Devote time to learn from others and not dwell on what you see as your road blocks. (yep - it's tough)
