I just recently discovered La Roux and I think they're fantastic. I really like how much Elly Jackson reminds me of David Bowie and the creativity that they have, much unlike other "pop" bands these days. It's really sad that everyone thinks she's a lesbian or bisexual or whatever. Literally, the second search you will find when you type in "Elly Jackson" into google is "Elly Jackson sexuality". Why does it matter? She makes good music in a band, sexuality is besides the point. Does a straight celebrity have to announce they're straight? No, so anyone else shouldn't have to. It makes me laugh when people keep debating over it and won't leave these celebrities alone. She says she's androgynous and I think that's cool but no one will just leave it at that. And on top of it, people flame all over the internet. OR at her concerts, girls will go topless and throw bras at her when in interviews she has said she's not a lesbian. Honestly I think sexuality doesn't matter when it comes to the arts. That's their personal life, they can do what they want. I do respect peoples opinions to not like her music, that's fine. But honestly, don't swear and flame, especially if you can't spell lol, it proves nothing but you're low intelligence. Like it or don't, leave it there. Which is funny because those who are obsessive get just as bad too. Haha, I'm just so neutral this all just makes me laugh.
BUT YES La Roux is amazing. If you like David Bowie, some Adam Lambert, synthpop and indie music, give her a try. I suggest the following songs:
-In For the Kill
-I'm Not Your Toy
-Colorless Color
You can actually find me on YouTube as RurouniMori. I have most of her songs on my channel.
