I've been on T for 10 weeks now.  Transition sucks but I'm trying to look on the bright side.  Here are some positives recently to keep my spirits up.

1. My voice is starting to lower.  Occasionally a stranger on the phone gets it right

2. I'm down to 25 percent body fat which is a big improvement over 32 percent

3. Getting body hair on my stomach and nice hairy calves

4. No more period!  Skipped the last one thank God.

5. If I introduce myself by my male name people don't question it at all

6. My kids are starting to call me by my male name

7. My partner is becoming more accepting.  Told his parents to call me by my male name

8. I'm a lot more confident almost arrogant at times.  Which can get me into trouble as I don't know how to regulate it yet

9. My pictures pass in chat sites / apps like Grindr

10. I have a better gait and walk more tall and proud than I use too

11. The future looks very positive from here!

Everyone list their positives and try to look on the bright side!  We are all on a journey and getting there day by day.   :D

Enjoy the process.  The beginning/in-between is the hardest part.  Congrats for having a supportive partner.

Thanks Jay.  He's coming around even though he still gets upset about it occasionally.  I know the odds are not in our favour but we might make it yet.  He's mostly concerned about the way he will appear to others.  He doesn't want to be perceived as a gay man.

So when we go out we are just buddies and that means no touching or any sort of affection at all.  Which is a bit difficult and I've slipped and called him 'dear' a few times.  I hope at some point he will be proud to be on my arm.  Time will tell with that.

I hope things work out for you, Squirrel.

This is a great idea for a thread.  I'm naturally pessimistic but trying to be more positive.

1.  Got called sir this morning at the drive thru.  Happened the other day too.
2.  Acquaintances are starting to occasionally call me by my male name.  Today, had two of them use my male name for the first time, one of which has refused in the past and told me I'd always be *girl's name* to her (I've started calling her Herman, so maybe she's gotten the point  ;) )
3.  My new therapist is awesome.  She's told me the best thing I can do is get on testosterone as soon as possible.
4.  A bit awkward but I thought it was kind of funny too.  I was at the library the other day and asked where the restroom was and the guy pointed out both where the men's and women's restroom was (they were on separate sides of the library).  So at least people can't tell right off the bat that I'm female-bodied.  (Also had someone call me sir the other day and then say m'am.  Frustrating.  ARgh!  Come on, T time.)

That's awesome Squirrel congrats! You're looking hot man, you completely pass :)
Just out of curiosity are you on the shots? I was asking around with the guys at my group how often they do their shots and was curious how often you do yours if you are on the shots?

My positives pre-t
1. This owner of a little cafe me and my mother go to calls me sir, a polite young man, and says I'm a gentleman. My mother just goes along with it and didn't correct her, even called me Alex a few times which is huge improvement, I'm proud of her
2. I've passed to a few people the last couple days
3. I've managed to get my voice deep enough, not fake-sounding, that I sound at least like a 14 yr old guy
4. Seems like shaving is helping cause my facial hair is coming in thicker, could just be my hoping though

Thank you Alex!  I really like your Gandhi quote, I'm going to remember that.  Congrats on passing pre-T!

I am on the shot.  I take it bi-weekly.  I can't say dosage here because it's against the rules but I believe it's a standard dose.

Pre T positives

I seem to be passing more often than not at the moment.
My friend says everyone she mentions me to goes on about how hot I am.
If I go to a gay bar, old men hit on me. I got my thigh stroked.
The supportive people in my life way outnumber the unsupportive ones.
I feel more confident everyday and I don't care what other people think as much.
In a few weeks I have an appt with my pdoc who is going to refer me to an endo.
My flatmate calls me he 2/3s of the time when it used to be she 2/3s of the time.  She isn't the default pronoun anymore and it sounds like a mistake when he says it.
Things are linin' up!

Pre T Positives

Pass hundred percent of the time.. well not always on the phone.. but whatever.. phones don't matter

Appointment in sept to talk with my doc about getting the T

No more worrying about getting 'caught' in the female bathrooms.. just head into the guys bathrooms and it's all good.

So far of the people I've come out to.. it's 100% support.

It's not a wonder (cough cough).  Okay, the creepy bisexual man will go now.

Pre-T positives: I finally told my parents that I wanted to start testosterone and have chest surgery, (I've been out to them for a couple of months, but haven't really talked about this before) and they're completely supportive :)

Also, I finally started the vlog I've been meaning to for ages, and discovered that my voice is so much lower when you listen to it recorded than when I listen to it when I'm speaking :D without trying to lower my voice :D (although my kiais are still distinctly high pitched. but, still, yay!) *happy dance*

Post T -

I sound like Darth Vader.
I feel human for once, i nstead of some broken freak.
I could go on but it's the day before my shot so I'm all mindf*k'd.

Sly

#18
- I ordered my first real binder last night.  Finally going to use something better than sports bras!
- Pre-T, I can pass easily enough for a youngish effeminate guy.  My voice isn't too high, chest small enough to hide under baggy clothes, and my shoulders are just a little bit wider than my hips.

xAndrewx

Congrats on your first binder sly :)  Zombie, that's awesome that you're on T, had to laugh at the Darth Vader comment but that's pretty cool that it is that deep.
