What about firefighter's 2 little boys?

What's getting lost amid the sensational headlines in the case of transgender widow Nikki Araguz is that two little boys have lost their father.

The older, a 9-year-old, still wakes up crying for his dad, their grandmother told me this week. The 6-year-old, though he's been to the cemetery to visit the grave site, is still waiting for his dad to come home, Mona Longoria says. She said she's helping care for the boys, who are living with their mother, Heather Delgado.

The young sons of fallen Wharton firefighter Thomas Araguz III seem to be the only innocents in this sordid tale, where everybody from the widow to a couple of the lawyers seems to have an agenda.

children are resilient. they'll push through, but they may never really get over it, the older one in particular. It's so traumatic to loose a parent at such a young age. I have two second cousins who lost their mother at a very young age, and they both seem alright today, but when it happened, it seemed like a lot of the adults in their lives didn't know how to treat them. whether they should be lenient, or remain strict. hard times.

My cousins lost their father at a young age, and were raised by their Mom.  They turn out alright and had great childhoods.

It is funny that just now the children come in to play.  Are they being used as a tactic by the family?

I've been wondering about them as well. Nikki did say she was concerned for them.

I don't know the custom in Texas, but in most of the world it is custmary for children to stay with the mother, unless there's a pressing reason.

Given that custody was awared to the father, hopefully those reasons are no affecting them too much.

But for the moment, the priority here must be Nikki. There is very little that can be done for the boys, even less if Nikki loses.
