I feel like a teenage boy! Okay, obviously I'm too old to feel this way. but I have zits everywhere and I am learning to shave just like a boy does. Yeah, I'm adult, and I wish I could go about this in a more manly manner. but umm dammit I'm in puberty! lol. I'm not sure that I shouldn't let this part of me grow. Develop. Live. so what if I'm behind other grown men. I've just arrived. Please tell me I'm not the only transperson to go through this and feel this way - eek!

I think we all feel that way, I know I do. It's hard to be going through puberty again as an adult but it's necessary and its better late than never :)
And it's not just physical changes either; we have so much to learn as we take a new place in the world; all the stuff we should've learnt as kids and teenagers and we have to learn quick!

Enjoy it, Nero!  Yes, it happens to us all.  And I'm a lot older than you are (well, older anyway).

Learning to shave eh?

Bits of toilet paper stuck to your skin.

Never got the hang of it myself. the idea that I should drag a sharp blade, which I wouldn't keep in a drawer, across my face, scraping off whatever.

I use to shave myself cutting.

But have fun. Wait for the smell.

I don't know about T, but E not only takes you through puberty again but it also adds a bit of fountain of youth affect.

"Now young man, I know you're anxious to grow up to be big and strong but there are many things in life you will need to learn.  And when you're old enough to get your driver's license..."  :D

Ah, puberty!  Don't ya just love it?  Now if you'll excuse me.  I have to go throw a hissy fit.
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.

I also feel like a teenage boy (and am sometimes mistaken for one). It's weird but also funny.

I don't have the zits, and I started shaving years ago (well before I needed to, because peach fuzz is a giveaway), but I've been going through a lot of teenage boy stuff myself. I thought that it would be over by now, but it isn't.

I wonder how much of it is T changing my brain and my responses, and how much is just me letting myself go after holding things inside for so many years. Anyway, it makes it hard to work. Or do much of anything constructive, actually.

I'm definitely too old for this.

That's really awesome!

It's a great phase in life.

I suspect I'll probably feel like a teenage boy when I start T.  For now I just feel really immature and boyish. ;D It's like I can't grow up!

Nero, my dear little brother, you're a guy.  Guys never grow up.  Even if they are 60, they still act like they are 10.

Just enjoy your male puberty. :D

Oh and yes I am like a teen aged girl, at 56.  Gee this is really strange.

Alyx.

Didn't you start T like a year ago?

Well, whatever. When you feel you are ready, I do want to see some before and after pics! ;)

Congrats, nero!

And one of the nice things about being a guy - no one says anything if you just don't feel like shaving every day, and you go around sporting 2-3 days worth of stubble

Heh. I have ten days' worth, but it's so blond and so flimsy that it's barely noticeable. Sigh.

How's the beard coming in, Nero? As I recall, it was already pretty full in a matter of months.

This.  It's like I haven't begun puberty yet, and I'm already 18.  Feeling like a teenage boy will be somewhat appropriate, though.

I prefer 'em around 30-ish. Less legal troubles that way ;).

But bad puns aside - I can relate. I look (and feel) younger than my "real" age.

I suppose when you really consider what's "special" about teenage years - it's no wonder. It's a transition into adulthood - just by a different route.

In both cases there's a lot of chemical changes going on, and new social roles, responsibilities, and expectations to live up to (many of which we can feel woefully under prepared for!). At the same time we're still discovering and defining ourselves.

Yay I finally look 30. Unfortunately I'm 48. But I went through it too Nero. You do get past it. And one thing you will note is that a lot of immature aspects do seem to stick. I have a much more juvenile sense of humour than before and that doesn't seem to be going away (fart jokes anyone?). Although I've retained my sarcasm and other elements of humour that I had before. Most of the world is funnier now than it was. And I like my job and my life a lot more now too :)

Still haven't got the hang of shaving every day. I try and scrape off the neck beard when it gets obvious (why the hell do I have a neck beard that is full and thick and still don't have a respectable moustache?).

But it's a great ride, do enjoy it. I love being a kid again!

I'm.... kinda jealous.  I wanna redo puberty in the right gender *imagine that said in a shiny child voice* ah~ but one of the charms of being a man is that underneath we're all really just boys ^^

Congrats Nero,

Enjoy your new life. I am.

I did see a males electric razor the other week that "guaranteed to keep a 24 hour stubble look" I was fascinated. Shave and not shave at the same time.

When you can and have the opportunity, go to a 'barbers' that do wet blade shaving. It was the only time in my life that I enjoyed being sexually male. I almost orgasmed, but then again maybe guys don't react that way ::).
