Part of the problem is that I have very little to no sensation there so I'm having trouble being able to tell exactly where the spoon is, whether it's over the pee-hole or not.   I wonder if that's normal?  Is the area outside the vag supposed to be numb?  Makes it really difficult trying to position this thing.

Idk if its normal, but I can feel there.
I agree with Leo though, you should feel around down there. Just make sure your hands are clean!
You could also just position way back and pull forward a bit.
