So I've made some posts tonight and am taking a little bit of what I edited out of another thread and am putting it in the intro thread here since it's a more appropriate place for it.

What I find is cool about a place like this is that we're all on our own journey through life. I find it interesting and comforting to read everyone's posts. I hope that I can contribute in some way and some of you may find reading my posts to be interesting.

I don't like "labels", although I won't tell anyone else to not CHOOSE (key word) a label for themselves that they feel fits and makes them comfortable or complete. I've had all sorts of labels given to me throughout my life by other people for a variety of reasons ... things like: transsexual, gender dysphoria, intersex ... I've had things like "anxiety disorder" also tossed my way. I always rejected everything because none of it really felt like who I actually AM. All the labels really hurt my self image growing up and it's taken many years to overcome that. But like I said, sometimes labels can be a good thing if the person is choosing them for themselves or if it's a legitimate medical condition.

I just want to live my life and be comfortable in my own body. I don't want to draw attention to myself in my every day life. Posting on forums like this is new to me and yeah, I'll stay anonymous. I'm sure some of you can relate to that as well.

Basically, I'm posting here to share. I can appreciate as well as relate to a lot of issues and a lot of different life experiences. I have a different life from everyone else and I choose to live it a certain way. I've been through a lot of crazy experiences in my life and have come a long way to get to where I am today.

Hi

How are you going? a little more information may help. Are you FtM. MtF, Androgyne. None of the above. It doesn't matter. But it helps people appreciate where you are coming from. Girls tend to talk to girls and boys to boys. Except for some of us who talk to everyone. Nothing wrong in any of it. I think many of the  guys just freak out on girl talk. Being a nosy "bitch" (in the nicest way) I look at the boys posts as well.  Then again I look at the boys as well. I know none of them will look at me   .

So welcome. Sit down and have a look around. Post and follow the TOS

Hey, thanks Cindy. To answer that question ... hmm ... complicated! Haha. I'm male ... the body I was born into doesn't match that 100%. I've gotten the "intersex" label before because of that but (thankfully!) I don't have any actual health problems associated with intersex conditions. I've never had genetic tests done (my parents might have when I was young but I'm not sure) and the person who gave me that label was a psychologist, so I'm not going to pretend I know all about intersex issues either. I guess if I had to choose a label it would be androgynous bisexual male in a mostly female body haha.

There's still an F on my birth certificate, but I know better ;) And I'm sure a statement like that would make a lot of sense to a lot of people here. Also I do not do any hormone therapy now. Although before puberty I was given estrogen shots - which I didn't want - in order to make it "easier" to appear female - something I also didn't want. I never looked like a girl growing up and was always confused about that sort of thing. After about age 11 was total hell. I've also have never had any surgeries. Over many years and trials and tribulations I've gained more confidence about the guy I am and I'm actually able to live my life either way because I'm confident in that knowledge. Soo, kind of a unique situation. Oh and also, in general, women have always confused me haha. But I'll talk to anyone :)

A little more about me ... I work in a creative field (and I keep my professional life separate), I've spent over a decade of my life getting really into natural health and alternative medicine, I love art, music and creative writing ... there's a lot of stuff I like!

And to everyone else, thanks for the welcome. :)
