Argent, there are some men's clothes shops in the UK (Burtons, Topman, Moss etc).  But, to start off on this clothes-buying thing, I recommend Primark, particularly if you live near a large branch (the Oxford Street one is my second home).  They offer jeans from a 28" waist (and don't forget that chaps wear their jeans lower on their hips than do women so that is small enough for the tiniest female form).  And I have found that I can take handfuls of their men's clothes into the women's fitting rooms (I don't pass) and no one bats an eyelid.  And, being so cheap, you can make a few mistakes as you search for your proper look.

And Primark do "boy shorts" in their female underwear section.  A way to wear man-styled undies that would pass your mother's scrutiny, perhaps?
aw, there's one opening right next to me in a few months. which makes me quite ecstatic and will result in gigantic shopping spree^^ i really like to shop there, and when i don't have to travel it's even better.... i was planning to change my style anyways, and that will give me a cheap opportunity to start ;D

Ok since I was so stoked about shopping yesterday I thought I'd post a pic (I'm kinda creechy about pics though so I might take it down lol).

The jeans are pretty ace. I'm kicking myself for not buying two pair!

And then I had to take one with my fav jacket. I'm way into jackets. This one is faux leather and I got it some years back in the chick's department at Target. heh.

I don't think men's clothes are boring. It just depends on how you accessorize.

You can still look like the manliest dude around and wear clothes that aren't boring.

I wear these clunky, awesomesauce Underground boots. 14-holes, steel tips, makes me feel really badass when wearing them. I started wearing boots when I was 13, they were my mum's old concert boots but unfortunately got ruined by my idiot ->-bleeped-<- classmates. The Underground ones look like they could survive WWIII and have gripping soles, which helped me during the hideously cold 2010 winter (december to march, or something), when it appeared the Weather Gods confused Sweden with Siberia. The only bad stuff is that they take 10 minutes or so to lace.

I'm lucky that military-style stuff is trendy this year, that means I can get pseudo-military stuff for the cheap at H&M and such stores.

I am loving this seasons military stuff

Androgynous suit style is all over the womens section aswell so I'm finally able to get nice jackets and stuff that fit me and don't look girly

Ah, so there are shops like that? I obviously have'nt been shopping enought to know. ^^;
And I already weirdly wear my jeans like that, which is the reason my jeans drag along the floor and wreck the bottoms but it's comfy so I don't care. Did'nt know other guys tend to do that too, obviously not observant enough, but that's still pretty cool. Thanks, I will definately look out for that shop- Might even look out for the nearest one and drag a friend down there. Thank god for maley femaley underwear! I will get away with that. I have to look out for those, also want skinny jeans but I am worried that it will show off my femine figure and i'll hate that.

Is there any way I could pull off looking more manly waistwise in skinny jeans?

A lot of guys look like they have more pronounced hips in skinny jeans too. Wear them lower on your hips as well and adding a belt I find helps.

I absolutely love some of those boots but I'm uh, a bit too old to wear them I think.  Man, I just had a birthday Saturday and it's hitting hard.  I *could* wear the boots but I wouldn't feel comfortable in them;  that's more accurate.  But, I do have some real army boots (yep, earned them myself) that I'm soooooo going to polish up for this fall.  I'm glad I kept them :)

LilDoberman, I'll bet I am older than you, but I still wear the boots I love.  OK.  So it is no longer the pointy buckle boots I used to wear as a goth in the 1980s, but I continue to love extreme footwear and see no good reason to abandon it any time soon.

Argent, I have some men's skinny jeans and they are my least convincing.  I wear them low on the waist and with a belt (but I am used to wearing all my trousers with a belt as I have a teeny tiny waist and not even women's clothes fit it).  The tightest I convincingly go is good ol' Primark's slim fit.  They are rather like this.

And, to obliterate the waist, I wear a t shirt that is a size larger than I would normally go so it still looks fitted and not like I am trying to hide in a tent, but without it dipping in noticeably at the waist.  I find big shoes/boots also help balance the hips and make them disappear a little.

Oh, and be aware that those slim fitting jeans have a definate magnfying effect.  If you wear a packer you will look as though you have a small puppy stuffed down your pants.  My cismale partner has a similar pair (a His and His matching wardrobe, how sweet) and it has the same effect on him.  I end up just stuffing a sock down there, for decency's sake.

THAT right there is one of the main reasons guys wear skinny jeans heh. If you have a normal size packer (and by "normal" I'm talking 3" here unless you're an overall big dude then you could probably get away with 4" - over that is pushing it) it really isn't that bad. I don't really think it looks that awkward because, well guys in tight pants get bits accentuated anyway ;) At the very least, a nice bulge is gonna draw attention away from any hips. Bonus!

And to @LilDoberman - rock those boots anyway! Hell I'm in my 30's and although I do have "age appropriate" clothing for when the situation demands (a business meeting ... going out to dinner at a nice place ... etc.) my usual attire is probably more in the 18-25 range. And unique pieces, like crazy boots, here and there I don't think is a  bad thing especially if they make you feel good wearing them!
