I think it relates more to flying but there are some issues in Canada where they can restrict access to travel/flying if you don't appear to be of the gender indicated on your ID/passport. It's going to look especially odd if your ID and passport don't line up. So I concur with the above: take your official change of name documentation.
This is why if you can change gender for your passport without SRS (something not possible in Canada believe it or not, which is why this rule caused outrage) then you absolutely SHOULD get it changed, especially if visiting Canada.
I don't mean to alarm you. I'm 90% sure it'd be fine but it's important to be aware of. I am of the belief this rule does exist still, but I'm not sure how much it's actually adhered to.
