Novotny takes on Kern's attack on liberals

Brittany Novotny, a transgender attorney, is challenging incumbent Sally Kern for her seat in the Oklahoma legislature. The district is in Oklahoma City.

She sent Dallas Voice a letter today taking issue with Kern's appearance at "Wake Up, America" where Kern took a stand against liberals.

Novotny challenged Kern to deal with the state's real issues. In the past Kern has said that gays and lesbians were a bigger threat to the country than terrorists.

I think there should be a law requiring nothing but the discussion of real issues for politicians. No smearing or name calling and no blaming of others. Just the issue, how to handle it, and how their opponent voted on similar issues.

Unfortunately that would render our political discussions to the kind of discussions they have about the fine print in insurance contracts.  Very interesting to those that have a vested interest, of no use most of the people.

In the past Kern has said that gays and lesbians were a bigger threat to the country than terrorists.

If there is any truth in that statement it is only because the threat of terrorism is so small.

Gays and Lesbians are a bigger threat than alien invasion.

Gays and Lesbians are a bigger threat than the Dark Lord of Mordor.

Any threat from gays and lesbians comes from the utterly intolerable and unacceptable way that some humans are treated for no other reason than their private lives.

One nation, indivisable, with Liberty and Justice for all.

And from the terrorist's point of view, there doesn't even need to be any act.

Terrorism is the perfect weapon because it's almost all in the mind.

Even more so because to eliminate it you need to eliminate it from the mind. That takes intelegence. So, terrorism wins.

Sorry for the seemingly sarchastic tone. But it really is that simple.
