Department store and mother equals awkardness

My mom, daughter and I went to wal-mart today and while we were there I figured that I'd get an ace bandage (for binding my chest) and for the first time get my first mens body wash. Ok both of these items came out of my pocket so my mom wouldn't have to worry about it. Anyway I had the items in the buggie and here comes mom and she looks at what was in the buggie. Then she asks me what am I doing with mens body wash and myself trying to be decret for the real reason I got it told her that I liked how it smelled and girls can use it to. At this point she was giving me all kinds of weird looks and did a good job making me feel ashamed of the body wash but nonetheless she believed me and dropped it. Then she starts on about the ace bandage she asked me why do I need it and I just lied to her I told her that you never know when you may need one she believed me. But still I felt so awkard about how she reacted and felt bad for getting them. Idk how she's going to act when I get mens body spray as I plan to do.

I know she is so used to me dressing in gender nuetral clothes and the occasional all female clothes with little problem but that was so awkward but I got to do this for myself because I feel ready to take that step of being male. I haven't came out to her and chances are coming out is a no go for the time being after all she says everyone should be happy with what god gave them grrrr

Deodorants, body washes, razors are all very sexist! Instead of putting "mens" and "womens" why don't they just label what the difference really is? All that stuff should be unisex and they should just label what the scent is imo.

I understand the awkwardness, but don't let it get to you.  I bought my first "men's" deodorant the other day, but it's because "women's" just doesn't cut it when it comes to helping prevent sweat and scent while men's can...plus, it smells really clean and I love it.  My sister has to use "men's" deodorant because of how much she sweats and "women's" deodorant wasn't strong enough, she'd keep getting sweat stains using it but those vanished once she made the change.

Yea it would be nice if they made all that stuff unisexed. I don't really see the diffrence between mens and womens body wash and stuff because there intended to work the same I just know they smell diffrent heh. There are some other things I plan on getting. And I just had another awkard exp with her I got my ace bandage on then went downstairs she just haad to give me another weird look but didn't say a word about it heh. I'm trying not to let none of this get to me kinda hard to do but I can handle it.

It's different in strength.  Men's items generally are stronger and can cut through scent better than women's stuff, but it's because some places don't realize that some women sweat/smell as much as guys do (like my sister).  I'm not saying it's a bad thing that some women can raise as much of a "stink" as men, I'm one of those "women" (XD).  I had to switch to "men's" because of it. >>
