Hi everyone!
I am thinking more of this beautiful mtf path I started walking and now, I am wondering how long the proccess will take, at step by step intervals
like, I know it is a long road we walk, and it may differ from person to person, but from one major step to the next, like, any examples, of how long it took you to reach the next milestone?
Like, coming out to wearing desired clothes to HRT, to passable in new gender to THE surgery?
Or what more steps are there?
Might be a weird question, but I am a sponge of knowledge right now
thanks!

First, I'm glad you're on your way :-)

As you pointed out, everyone's experience is a little different but here's a rough idea of my experience:

Age 13; Realized that the "something is different" feeling I've felt is that I'm supposed to be a girl.

Age 35: Feeling of dysphoria worse than ever in my life; Secretly started transition and HRT

HRT+ 1 month: started feeling emotional/thought changes

+2 months: Start of breast growth

+6 months: Male sex drive completely gone; some body fat redistribution starting to show

+1 yr: breast growth too obvious to hide; facial contours starting to change; obvious fat redistribution  to thighs and buttocks

+2 yr: Body hair has become finer; face quite different when compared to pre-transition pictures; Have to wear a tight sport bra to hide breasts; Others starting to notice physical changes; genitals no longer perform; testicular atrophy severe

+2 yr, 6 months: Came out to friends and family as Trans; wife demands divorce; lost best friend of 30 years; rejected by some family; started therapy related to gender identity

+2 yr, 8 months: Started dressing androgynously while not at work; started laser facial hair removal; started working on voice

+2 yr, 10 months: Experienced major changes in perception; new, physical sensations when aroused; conservatively presenting as female with family and friends

+3 yr: Came out at work; started conservative androgynous dress at work; confident with voice and starting to use it; gender ambiguity noted in everyday interaction with the public; most difficult part of social transition; being openly talked about in public places.. "is that a guy or a girl?"

+3 yr, 6 months: Legal name change; Started "real life test" (not a test to me, just living full time) ; voice finally perfect

+4 yr: surprised at breast, "growth spurt" (woohoo!) Now insistent on use of proper pronouns and new name at home and work; continued facial changes

+4 yr, 6 months: Complete social transition; gender no longer questioned; mark one year of living full time

+5 yr: (present)  Obtained authorization letter for GRS; scheduling GRS and communicating with clinic in Thailand

+5 yr, 9 months (future) GRS with Dr. Suporn, Chonburi, Thailand

................What a ride!!!!!  ;)

Hi Daszuber

  • I was around 5 years old when I realised that something was not quite right.
  • Around when I was around 18 I found about 'Transgender' people.
  • When I was 30, I finally understood that I was a female and I had always been so.
  • I left my family and friends behind when I was 30.
  • Within 3 months of leaving my family and friends I had legally changed my name and documents, I had started hormones, I started seeing a psychiatrist and I had a full time job and nobody knew about my past.
  • When I was 32 I had my GRS.
  • I'm nearly 52 and I living my life to fullest and I'm extremely happy.

Kind regards
Sarah B
